Rhubarb Recovery
I stripped out most of the damaged leaves and sent an eviction order to the slugs. The rhubarb is now recovering nicely and should still produce crop this year.
In the process, I accidently removed one of the crowns (basically the root system) but there are plenty more. The removed crown went to a neighbour who has given me a lot of helpful advice. The latest of which was "You should give that to a helpful neighbour".
Pumpkins? Maybe.
Definitely Pumpkins.
Currantly Unknown.
These were donated as "probably pumpkins, I'm not sure." So, they are probably pumpkins, but I'm not sure.
These are on a part of my plot that I have loaned to my generous neighbour. They are going to produce giant pumpkins, hopefully.
They are either redcurrants or blackcurrants. Time will tell. Another plant rescued from the overgrown plot.
Expanding Bed.
Weed Blocker?
Increasing the size of the turnip bed. With staggered planting, I should have turnips throughout the autumn and early into winter.
Apart from the carpet and rotten wood, I'm finding sheets of plastic buried several inches deep to stop weeds. It doesn't work.
Burning Desire.
Is that a flame?
Check wind direction. Done. Gather some garden waste. Done. Clear around base of burner. Nah. It'll be fine. Fill two buckets with water, just in case. Done.
Yes. Yes it is. Let's hope I'm a better gardener than I am a photographer.
