Sparsnips
Finally lifted my parsnips. It was disappointing.

My first parsnips were a disappointment. I only had six growing, but expected them to be bigger. Let's see how I do next year.
The plan is to plant seeds in cardboard tubes (from toilet rolls) and transplant them in the ground when strong enough, tubes and all.

The only thing I've got growing at moment is garlic.
I looked at the prices of garlic sets from my usual seed supplier and was shocked. So, I decided to try shop-bought garlic instead.
I put blood, fish and bone on them and will do so again before spring.
When harvesting, I will save the biggest cloves for the next planting.
It's been raining almost every day for about a month, so there has been very little activity on the allotments.
A few dry days in a row and I'll be over there with fork, tiller and hoe, preparing the soil for the spring.
